APLA Health Calls for Accountability at Los Angeles City Council

APLA Health is calling for the immediate resignation of Los Angeles City Councilmembers Nury Martinez, Kevin de Leon, and Gil Cedillo following the leaked audio of a conversation in which they made racist and dehumanizing remarks attacking the Black community, the LGBTQ+ community, the Indigenous community, and a fellow Councilmember’s family and child.

APLA Health’s mission is to restore dignity and trust within underserved communities by providing world-class LGBTQ+ empowering healthcare, support services, and HIV specialty care. We are firmly committed to building a diverse and vibrant Los Angeles where all members of our communities can thrive together. It will not be possible for us to do this important work in LA’s most vulnerable communities with these three members remaining on the City Council. They have violated their oaths of office and have further eroded the public’s trust in solving the City’s most intractable problems.

They should go.
